Scope of this category[]

I feel that this category has been misapplied in many cases. It seems to have been misused as a synonym for Category:Twisty puzzles.

This category should only be applied to cubes (and articles about cubes); I'm not sure it should be applied to cuboids (rectangular faces), and it definitely shouldn't be applied to non-cubic puzzles such as the Pyraminx (tetrahedron) or Megaminx (dodecahedron); although it should be applied to the Pyramorphix (tetrahedral shape but Pocket Cube mechanism), and to the dodecahedral puzzle which is likewise a shape mod of the Cube, if we have or get an article on that one.

Remember that the purpose of categories is sorting and navigation, so a category which is too narrow or too broad is useless. — evilquoll (talk) 08:28, August 1, 2017 (UTC)

Actually, cuboids have cubic mechanisms, hence belong in this category. For the same reason, Dane Christianson's X-cube and X2-Cube also belong here. — evilquoll (talk) 12:42, August 11, 2017 (UTC)
